Why is the tennis chain actually called tennis chain?

Always in fashion & seen everywhere - the tennis necklace & the tennis chain, but how did this fashionable accessory actually get its name?

The story behind the Tennis Chain.

The name originated during the 1987 US Open tennis championships. World-class professional tennis player Evert was in the middle of a hard-fought match when her diamond bracelet fell off her wrist, prompting the champion to request a break from the game so that she could look for her bracelet. When asked about it in an interview, she dubbed the missing piece of jewelry her "tennis bracelet", and that's how the iconic name was born.
